That is a ridiculously good rendering. Just two things clue me in to it being a rendering. The 100% perfect focus (as if the iris of the camera is infinity small). Also the skin texture used for the speculairty is too uniform. Although it perfect for some parts like the back of the hand, which looks almost 100% real. It's not good in others like the finger tips (which should have a finger print pattern), buttocks and breasts (which are too bumpy).
Thanks for your comment. With the specularity you are right. I had soften it a little bit. The finger tips is a other thing. It´s a interesting idea if it´s possible to add this into the specular-map. The perfect focus is in reality no problem. With a modern cam and excellent lightning and a aperture size from 20 or smaller you could get this clear focus.
Well I know the focus isn't a true problem and as camera technology gets better it will look more and more like it. But the focus is just too perfect. I think it needs some imperfection like the skin texture. The birthmarks, scars and follicles make the skin look more realistic.
No, it isn´t. The texture is from "The Metropolitan Collection - Lyon and Paris for Victoria 4.2". I have modified it just a little bit. I used 2 lights. A spot light as the main. A spot light from behind. Acctivated Subsurface Scattering. Nothing more...oh...and many, many test render
